Judaism

The oldest of the Abrahamic faiths, Judaism embodies a diverse set of values, texts, and experiences which link the world's 14 million or so Jews together in numerous ways.  A common way to approach Judaism is through three central categories of "God" (theology, where many varying opinions are held), "Torah" (sacred text, starting with the Five Books of Moses and continuing through the Hebrew Bible, Talmud, and numerous later authoritative works), and "Israel" (a sense of peoplehood, of common identity and fate, including but not limited to connection with the land and people and state that bear the same name).  Judaism calls its adherents to the highest ethical statdards, with "Tikkun Olam" - improving the world, as a central principle.
