Signature Program 

  

Supporting schools in strengthening the teaaching about religion, especially through the Teaching About Religion book and its supplements, as well as by providing speakers, arranging field trips, creating other materials, and leading workshops for educators.

 

Program Initiatives

 

1. Developing young leaders for inter-religious work who are grounded in their own tradition and eager to work with youth of other faiths. This includes expanding workshops, community service-learning projects, dialogues, and redeveloping the InterFaith Youth Council.

 

2. Re-establishing the IntherFaith Children's Theatre Company troupe, the first of its kind in the world, to inspire children and youth through art, music, and drama, so that they better understand and respect people different from themselves and religions other than their own traditions.

 

Collaborative Program

 

With The InterFaith Center for Advancing Justice, nurturing inter-religious understanding among young people through community service-learning projects for high school youth and college/university students and such programs as the Snowdon Lecture and related essay contest and the region’s only multi-religious service annually for Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday.
